Shakira feat Rihanna "Can't Remember To Forget You"
The accompanying music video for “Can’t Remember to Forget You” was filmed by American director Joseph Kahn. On 8 December 2013, Shakira tweeted that she had finished shooting the video with Kahn.[54] The premiere of the video took place on 30 January 2014, and debuted during “Shakira: Off the Charts” a 30-min special 8:pm ET/PT on E! Online.[55] The video was made available for streaming on Shakira’s Vevo profile on YouTube where it received more than 17.1 million views during its first 24 hours of availability.[56] On 9 February 2014, the video reached 100 million views, becoming Shakira’s eighth Vevo Certified music video.[57] As of November 2019, it has received over 1 billion views.[58]
The video features cameos from TikTok stars Loren Gray (the second most followed on the platform at the time) and Dominic Toliver, actress Jayden Bartels, and Swift’s father Scott Swift; actor Dwayne Johnson appears in a brief voice role.[40] The video’s production team includes producer Jil Hardin, executive producer Rebecca Skinner, assistant director Joe Osborne, cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, production designer Ethan Tobman, and makeup artist Bill Corso.[41][42] Swift’s transformation involved a “muscle suit”, prosthetic makeup, eyebrow wigs, and facial sculptures, which took between four and six hours to apply each day.[42] She also worked with movement coaches Stephen Galloway and Spenser Theberge, as well as editor Chancler Haynes.[42] Visual effects were handled by Ingenuity Studios.[41]
